Dear Sirs

I am an EU national (Swedish) who has lived and worked in the UK since Sep 2006 (over 5 years).

I would like to apply for British citizenship and have received quite different advice from different agencies.

I was hoping you could assist in clarifying the matter.

When I make my application for naturalisation to the UKBA I need to show that I have lived in the UK for the past 5 years but also show indefinite leave to remain or so called permanent residency. How do I prove this, must I apply for an EEA3 and hold that for 12 months or is the fact that I have lived and worked in the UK for more than 5 years enough to prove residency?

I urgently need advice as the UKBA has been quite unhelpful and the individuals over the phone keep giving me different advice and the website is quite vague on this subject

I would very much appreciate any assistance.

Yours sincerely

A.
