Monika p thank you for your reply.

i am still quite confused about the test and english certificate.  i look the wedsite: http://www.lifeintheuktest.gov.uk/

"Not everyone has to take the Life in the UK Test. Visit 'About the test' to find out if you do. Depending on your level of English, you may choose to attend combined English language (ESOL) and citizenship classes"

from what they said, does it mean we don't have to do the test, as long as we attend free ESOL and citizenship classes, then we can apply for the british citizenship? if so, why do people need to worry about to pass the test and pay so much money to buy the books and pay for the test?

Hello Vicky:

You are absolutely right that you may be exempt from the test if your level of English is less then what is required. However, you do need to attend the classes and you need to pass their test.  Trust me it is easier to pass this test and will be fast.  ESOL and Citizenship classes takes long time and I will prefer the test unless your English is really really poor. This opion is for people who can't even write their name and address.

Your e-mail suggest that you will be able to pass the test with help from this site. All the material is available on this site so you really don't have to purchase anything.  Try all the quizes and if you still not comfortable then take the classes. Check with local college or university if the offer those classes.

Hope this helps.

That's not really what I said.  There are exceptions and one of those exception is if your level of English is very low.  Others exceptions are of Age and disabilities.  Please check their site also.  Don't just take my words for it.

Thanks
