I think you are very lucky because I have been waiting for almost 11 week. were there any special circumstances or was it a normal application. I think everyone will appreciate a summary how you applied and under what circumstances.

Congratulations to you and to the Home Office for processing it quickly.

I sent a reply already, but I agree with Waheed. You are very lucky to have got through so fast. I have been waiting about the same amount of time and have just had confirmation that they recieved my application & payment!

We must at least congratulate you  for your luck & the Home Office for speeding things up. Lets just pray that they did not make a mistake!

Once again well done!

After this post I assume everyone will ring Home Office and check their application status. According to Home Office, applications take around 6 months. So do not expect miracles.

It takes around 2 weeks for Home Office to even respond to a letter so I'm not quite sure how did you have yours sorted out that quick.

Congratulations and Regards,

M Fidan

Hi Waheed.

First of all, let me thank you for your kind effots in helping people by spending your valuable time on this forum. The purpose of this forum is really benign and even you won't realize how helpful this must be proving to the applicants.

Now let me answer your question.

Here are the key points of my application:

1) I am an Indian citizen

2) I am married to a British Citizen (She herself is a Naturalised citizen)

3) I used Nationality Checking Service (NCS) for my application

Here is the timeline (end-to-end) for my application process, starting for the "Life In The UK" Test.

1) Took "Life In the UK" test on 25th April

2) Passed the test (thanks to this website ) and straightaway took the appointment for NCS, which I got for 2nd May

3) Attended NCS with my completed application form and required documents - They charged £30 for that.

4) My application was sent to Home Office on 2nd May by NCS

5) I recevied the acknowledgement letter from The Home Office about the receipt of my application on 6th May

6) Today morning (16th May) I received the letter from Home Office stating the approval - soon I will post the content of this letter

7) I called the contact specified in my letter to book an appointment for Citizenship Ceremony - which I got for 6th June - two days after which I will get the Naturalisation Certificate - which I can use for my British Passport Application.

Thanks

Hardik

It would seem something strange is going on. I applied for mine end of February  and today I received a letter from the Home Office stating my application has been approved. The later was date 11th May. It would not suprise me if other people get the same approval letter dated 11th of May.

I think the moral of the story is use the The
Nationality Checking Service

The Nationality
Checking Service is a partnership between the Home Office Immigration &
Nationality Directorate and local councils in England and Wales. It allows those
people applying for British citizenship to make their applications, in person,
at their local council offices. For a small fee,
participating
councils will check that applications are completed correctly and have been
submitted with all the necessary supporting documents and the correct fee. They
will photocopy and certify valuable documents such as passports and will send
the applications to the Home Office by special delivery post. Complete
applications can be dealt with more quickly than those that are incomplete.
Those using the service will be able to keep their passports rather than sending
them to the Home.

Hello,

It looks like the waiting time for citizenship application processing has come down drastically. I applied for mine on 2nd May and today I received a letter from Home Office stating my application has been approved. The later was date 11th May. So they processed it quite quick.

I will be attending a citizenship ceremony now and then will receive the Certificate. That would help me get British Passport and then no Visa required for travelling around.
