I am applying for the naturalization next January(got ILR in Jan 2006). Although my wife is good in english she doesn't work full time (voluntary work once a week in a school) I want to know how she will produce the evidence of English language. Is life in UK test certificate is enough or she needs something else? I understand I would not require such evidence as I work full time in NHS (doctor).

Another questions:

Can I apply for naturalization 3-4 weeks before due time or it has to be exactly 1yrs after ?

Thanks.

You both will require Life in the UK test Certificate because I don't see you as an exempt case. Being Doctor in NHS is not a one of the requirement for exempt cases. I teach in college but had to take the test.

You may call them and they may make an exception in your case but require test certificate unless they go to special classes or are exempt. Your wife just need a Pass certificate nothing else. If she cannot pass the test then she will require to complete the special course of English.

Hope this helps
