I received a call form my local council telling me that my naturalisation application had been successful. have not received any letter as yet  

My question is how long does it take from now until i am able to apply for a passport? thanks

It depends on how busy your local council is to make an appointment for you for the ceremony. As soon as you attend your cermony and receive the certificate, you can apply for a passport.
