Hi all i just wanted to confirm if i am doing the right thing:

I am taking the Life in the UK test on 21st May 2007 (1st edition of the book and only revising chapters 2,3 and 4)?

Firstly, i do not need to take the new version of the test(chapters 2,3,4,5 and 6) as i have opted for the first version chapters 2,3 and 4) But if i decided to take the test after 30th June 2007 then i MUST take the second version of the test?

Secondly, i will be applying for ILR in March 2008 as i only came into the UK on April 2006. However i have read on the Life in the UK website that if u pass the test you should submit your aplication soon after. But it is too soon for me to apply this year?

Will my pass status of the Life in the UK test still be valid next year (March 2007) when i apply for my ILR.

I think you're quite wise taking the first version of the test. According to this website the new version requires you to study twice as much material.

You can take the original first version of the test until 30 June - after that time you have to take the new version. More about that on the same website
