I too do not know but I cannot see that there would be a different exam for Scotland and Wales as they are part of the UK and the test is for the UK. There should not be a more favourable test for where you live in the UK. If you can ask at your local test centre. Just ask them that if your wife were to take her test in London would there be a difference. I think this is a question that a lot of people have not thought about.

Sorry I cannot do more to help!!

Test is from three chapters and thats about it.  These three chapters cover all the countries of UK. Don't move just because of the test <Just Kidding>

I believe Test is issued by the Home office and the book is same.  You can take it in Welsh or English.

There is only one book so I cannot see how the test your wife will take in Wales can differ from the ones in mainland England.

I know there are plans to offer the test in Welsh however this is only for the language of the test not the content.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.  test is not really that hard.  I believe it is another way of getting money.  Test by itself is a joke but don't get me wrong.  People do fail.  If you prepare you shold be able to pass with flying colors.

You must have missed the deadline by 4-5 months becuase test become requirement after November 1, 2005.  Make sure your wife understand all three chapters and read it several times and attempt all the quizes here and pass them without cheating. If she does that she has nothing to worry about.

No, my thinking was that the test in Wales might ask more about Assembly, St David's day etc.

No, I submitted before 1st Nov but three years previous to that we were on family holiday so my wife was not resident in the uk on that date. If I had sent it three weeks ago she would have got her citizenship & not have to sit test. Liverpool have asked her to submit certificate before April 17. I assume we will lose fee if we dont send something- so thats why she is sitting test at earliest opportunity.

I will try to take her to a library tomorrow so she can practice the quiz on this website, her test is on monday & we have been using the study guide book.

Thanks for the various replies though.

I know, home office have some silly requirements.  I also couldn't apply before Novemeber because I was in USA 3 years ago in October.

Test is not that hard but she needs to understand most of it. You probably know her competency better and knows if it is right time for her or not.  If you dont think she is ready then postpone the test until she is ready. I think they won't charge you anything  if you cancel 24 hours before. So you do have soem time.

Good Luck

63. Will the same questions be used each time?

No. Applicants will have to answer 24 questions chosen randomly, but all based on the contents of the handbook. If you take the test in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man some of the questions will relate to that country/island

Hi I accidently delayed my wife's application & she has missed citizenship by three weeks, now she has to sit the test before april 17 otherwise we will lose our fee. She is not really prepared but we have no choice.

I want to know whether the tests asks more specific questions for the country your in, for example, we live in Wales- our we more likely to get questions more specific to Wales? Unfortunately we do not have a computer at home & my wife is having to learn from the study guide book. Any tips anyone?
