if your sons was born in the UK, he qualified for British nationality the minute you got ILR. You can register him as a British citizen now with Form MN-1. I think the fee is around £285, but they may have changed it.

Unless you are married to a British citizen, however, you will have to wait one more year to apply for British nationality for yourself. You will need the current version of Form AN, and the current fee is £655.
