Hi Francis,

The Home Office infact do have many outstanding applications of the same kind and yours may be one of those currently under the backlog of older cases as it has been quite a lengthy period since you havent heard back.

There is no definite answer as to how long an application will pend with the Home Office as it is under their discretion to decide on each individual case.

As a general guidance it is worth sending any application to the Home Office via Recorded Delivery to ensure you have a tracking number for reference.

Ultimately my advice to you would be to request your legal representative (if you have one) to call the Home Office for an update into your case as a matter of urgency as calling them doesnt always resolve  the situation. Ensure you send this letter out via recorded delivery and if you desire you could head it 'Letter of complaint'.

If your case falls under the backlog they will inform you; and thereon you will need to wait slightly longer.

Hope that helps :)

Hi! Seda

I think if I write with ''Letter of complain'' , they will delay my case more and so far they didn't asked me any more detail or anything else to submit.

I called the  Home office they told me I need to wait or you can fax regarding the case and detail,

I don't know how long need to wait now 8 months.I have my family with two childrens.

If you please reply my e-mail , I will be grateful

with warm regards

Hi Francis, I will advise you to ask your MP (member of parliament) to write to the home office on your behalf, they should reply to him within 3 to 6 weeks. At least you will know where your application stands. Take care

Hi Francis,

I agree with anali na.

This is quite a long time to be waiting and there may be some discrepancy on your application.

(Unfortunately the Home Office won't always contact your to request further information.)

Provided your application was without problems, your MP's involvement should help to speed things up.

Dear Sir/Madam

I apply for my ILR SET (O) on 7th May 2009 and the money is been withdrawn from my bank on 15th May 2009. How long does the Home Office take to give decision on ILR SET (O) now going to be six month on 7th Nov 2009.

If you kindly help me in this matter, I will be grateful to you

Thanks
