Hello,

I had this same situation, now here is what I understand about being married & out of the country.  If you are leaving the country alone then you can be out for one month, then you have to come back.  For one whole year you can be out for 90 days but not all at one time if you are going alone.  You have to do the 90 days & split it up into 3 months, but the 3 months can't be together.  However, if you & your spouse leave the country together then you both can be out of the country for the 90 days all at one time.  It's best to keep it just under either 30 or 90 days because of time differences.  The main thing is that immigration authorities want to make sure you & your spouse are actually together as a couple.  Hope this helps out.

Can anyone point me to the rule on how long an ILR applicant (spouse) may have been out of the country?

Thanks,
