Dear all,

Could you tell me if I still have to pass the test "life in the UK".

I got my ILR in 2002 I moved to (Ireland - Cork)  for 1 year but I just to go to Belfast. The immigraion Officer did not stamp my Passport, can I still apply for my naturalization? or do I have to make that year ?

please advised.

Thank you.

Hi. Yes, you will need to pass the Life in the UK test to apply for citizenship.

Although the Republic of Ireland is a part of the Common Travel Area, it is not a part of the United Kingdom, so your time in the Irish Republic will count as absences from the United Kingdom.

Best wishes,
Will
