Hey, whatever your belief is I do respect them but you have to take an oath or you don't get the nationality. That is the process and you are applying on that basis.

Democratically Elected! Joke a big Joke. Blair was democratically elected, Bush was democratically elected both are criminals and should be tried for War Crimes but that is in my opinion, like I said this is a process.

As far as your last argument "i am glad I am a citizen from birth" does not tell me your values. Seems like you are against Monarchy yet you keep living in this country. Sorry to say you must find where you stand. Because you got exactly what you are from your ancestor, yet you said "pledge or oath to someone who was not democratically elected but who is in their position solely because of who their ancestors were". Think about it!!!

I am not sure why you like democratically elected officials because they do have black marks on them and blood on their hands.

I hope you try to understand what I am trying to tell you from your own post.

I think that attending a ceremony should be optional.  Also, you should not have to make an oath of loyalty to the queen - the system should respect the beliefs of people with republican opinions, after all there are many millions of people who are British citizens from birth who do not agree with the monarchy - they are allowed to hold these views without being made to give up their citizenship, and are not compelled to show any kind of loyalty or pledge to the queen.  I am glad I am a citizen from birth - I would not wish to give any pledge or oath to someone who was not democratically elected but who is in their position solely because of who their ancestors were.
