Hi,

Thanks a lot for the free service and help to community.

I hold UK citizenship and my wife holds permanent residency. On job requirements, we had to move out of UK for 3 years now. My wife visited UK last year to retain her permanent residency status. Now I got new assignment in UK, so planning to travel to UK in Jan 2010.

  1. I hope my wife will not have any issue while entering back to UK as she still holds active permanent residency. Can you please confirm?

  2. When she will get eligibility to apply for Naturalization (UK Citizenship).

Hi,
I do not think your wife should have any problems entering the UK. As far as her eligibility for naturalisation is concerned, the only problem that I can see is the number of days spent outside the UK!!! I guess her qualifying period would have to re-start once you are in the UK next year but it is always wise to confirm with the Home Office.
