I am about to apply for ILR - Currently on Tier1 which expires May 2013. I will be completing 5 years July the 25th. When is the earliest I can apply for the ILR? My passport is about to expire. Will that be a problem for the ILR application? Thanks
You can apply for ILR 28 days before before you fulfill 5 years in UK. UKBA wont have any problem if your passport is going to expire soon. When you get a new passport, then while travelling, you will have to always carry both the passports with you, because your old passport will have ILR in it.
I would personally suggest that if possible, get a new passport from your countrys embassy before you apply for ILR. This way you will avoid the headache of carrying both passports with.
