Hi Farah,
You and your husband can apply for naturalisation at the same time. Your children apply at the same time. Every one has to fill up a separate form, but can pay a reduced joint fees.

Your daughter born in UK will not be naturalised. For her there is an entitlement to register as British Citizen. So she will apply for "registeration" under
section 1 (3) and not naturalisation. Registeration is a simpler and cheaper process.

Your son 17 will also apply for registeration under section 3 (1)and not naturlisation.

The forms that you will need are as under

You= Form AN for naturalisation
Husband= Form AN for naturalisation
Daughter= Form MN1 - tick the box that application is under section 1 (3)
Son= Form MN1 - tick the box that application is under section 3 (1)

If you need any other clarification about the process, please leave a message.

Hi Mr Lookforward,

You mentioned registration is simpler/cheaper as oppose to naturalisation, any idea on the processing period ? HO says 3-6 months for naturalisation, is it same for registration ?

Thanks

I'd have thought with just a single application (not involving dependants), you shouldn't have too much trouble getting the date you want, provided you book as soon as slots are released. Try Croydon PEO first, as it's biggest and local to you. Try logging on a few days before 6 weeks, as they sometimes release a bit earlier. Usually they are released overnight on the relevant dates, so stay up late!
UK partner's absences have no bearing on naturalization, unless there are reasons to doubt the durability of relationship - i.e. they are in fact separating.
You have to get a long-term residency in Ireland, and to be eligible for naturalization, it has to be a category such as employment, self-employment or marriage, not student or visitor. And you have to explore ways to find sponsorship for work permit, for which you need a specialized skill and experience in short supply, or qualify under a shortage occupation.

I was granted ILR April 2010 along with my family, now I’m due to apply for citizenship, we are 4 people, my husband , me ,my son(17) and my daughter (8 and born in uk), these are my questions: should all of us apply on separate applications ( 4 application)? -should we take life in the UK test as we did last year for our ILR? -which form is for kids under18 (I’m confused as one of mine was born here and another born abroad) also we have been here for 10 years. I appreciate anyone who can answer.
