There are 4 Bank Holidays according to the Official handbook. Disregard what you have read or heard elsewhere. Questions will only come on material in the handbook.

The ArchBishop of Canterbury is the head of the Church of England. Back in 1534 when the church was first established, the King established himself as the first head, thereby gaining the status of Supreme Governor.

Hope this helps.

Life in the UK book says 4 but I have read there are 8 bank/public holidays. It is also mentioned on sample papers of one of the web sites. Can someone please confirm?

I am also confused who is head of the Church of England

Queen/King or Archbishop of Canterbury.
