Your girlfriend may be denied entry to the UK if she's planning to come here to be married without having a fiance visa. You should have her (and her son, as a dependent) apply for a fiance visa to the UK, through the UK embassy in Taiwan. She would come over here, and you need to be married within 6 months of the visa being approved. Then, she needs to apply for a spouse visa (with her son as a dependent) once you're married, before the fiance visa expires. That is valid for 2 years, and she then applies for indefinite leave to remain.
There should be no issues with immigration approving a visa for her and her son to be here, as long as you provide all the required documentation and can prove it's a valid marriage.
For indefinite leave to remain, she'll need to take the Life in the UK test, and prove she can speak English. She can apply for citizenship 3 years after arriving in the UK.

Thanks for the prompt reply I am very grateful, But as from 3rd March 2009 she can get free 6 months access to the UK “The British Trade & Cultural Office (BTCO) today announced that from 3 March 2009 Taiwan passport-holders who wish to visit the United Kingdom for less than six months on business or as a tourist, family visitor or student visitor will no longer require a visa” so will she still need the fiancée visa or will we be able to marry without it

As she is coming to the UK to marry you, she doesn't qualify under those categories - she's not here on business, she's not a tourist, family visitor or student. When she enters the country, she'll be questioned, and if she says she's coming to the UK to be married, they will deny her entry, as her visa is not for the purpose of being married. If she's denied entry, they would send her and her son back, and it could be very difficult for her to return to the UK. She will definitely need to obtain a fiance visa in Taiwan from the UK embassy. If she did come on the 6-month free visa and you were to get married when she's here on this 6-month visa, there would be a lot of questioning, and she could get denied for a spouse visa if they find out you were together before she arrived. They want you to hold a visa for the exact purpose of your visit. It's best to follow the exact procedure, because there's a much higher chance she'll be able to stay here.
Also, I would assume she's getting a one-way ticket to the UK, if she's planning on marrying you and living here, and the border agency would find it suspicious that a foreigner had a one-way ticket and was here on a 6-month business/tourist/family/student visa. To be granted entry, she would need a return ticket. With the fiance visa, she's allowed to have a one-way ticket.

I'm American and went through the same process to move here and get married. I didn't need a visa to visit the UK, either, but had to get the fiance visa to enter the country, since I planned on being married.

My Girl friend and her son are visiting me in the UK on a free visa for 6 months from Taiwan we plan to marry in that time if it’s possible, we have known each other for several years and I have visited her and her Family many times and her parents have taken me as their god son we are very happy together.

We now think the time is right for us to marry having spent so much time together and I have asked her parents for their consent to marry their daughter.

We would like to know if it is possible after we marry for her and her son to stay here on an immigration visa without leaving.
