I thought someone will have more info but here is what my understanding is. The date starts at the time Spouse Visa is issued even though in my case that was not true because I took the date of entry as the main date. Officially it is the date of Visa. Home office will not make it clear and they will refuse your visa in some cases but not in all. I guess it also depends on the case worker and on their mood. If you look at he dates it also state the Visa expiry date so I believe Home Office is doing some hanky panky and they are not 100 percent honest. It is a shame that Home office is so vague in their policies and forign people have to suffer their stupidity.

The problem comes to if he needs to apply FLR because his visa will expire on Feb 8 and his 2 years are not up as he entered UK on March 9.

Help I need is if someone else was in a similar situation and can shed some light on it. what info they got and how did they handle it.

I am rusty on new requirements can someone help with what are they doing now. There is always a question which dat ethey consider as important. The day you enter or the day you were issued the Spouse visa. My friend wants to apply before Feb. here is his details

Spouse Visa valid from 08/02/07
valid until 08/02/09

Immigration stamp of entry in to UK (First Time)
09 march 2007

Is there a limit on how long he can stay out of the country?

He wants to go to Pakistan for about 45 days. Will that affect his ILR?

Anyone has any Immigration site reference for the above, please post here
