You can apply for a British passport the moment you are a citizen. In fact, I went straight from my naturalisation ceremony to the nearest Passport Office (which happens to be near by) and handed in my application by hand. I didn't even go home first.

i applied for mine within 45 min after getting the naturalisation certificate.
