Dear All,
I would like you to give me advices about what is the best way that I should follow to get the British Citizenship.
I have been in UK since February 2003 as a post-doctoral researcher. However, I only got the work-permit, and fully working for the university as the research staff since October 2003.
It means that I have been in UK for 6 years and 7 months (until September 2009), and holding the work-permit for almost 6 years.
I am still working for the university for coming years.
The normal road to the British Citizenship includes two steps: (i) Applying for ILR, and (ii) Applying for Naturalization after one year of ILR.
However, based on the information from the Home Office at the following link, I may be qualified for directly applying the British Citizenship without the need of applying for ILR:

If you have known the similar cases and got experiences about applying for the British Citizenship, please kindly give me your advices,
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Le
