They will send you information and you will just have to repeat it like a vows in the wedding. They have two version, don't worry about it right now.Ā  It is very simple three lines, I don't have it right now but you can search on the Internet.

Good Luck

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the link, it is really helpful šŸ™‚.

Also on the Cambridgeshire county council web site (from the link) there is information on 'Arranging your citizenship ceremony'. The note says that the approval letter from the home office will tell the name of the Citizenship Officer to get in touch with. The approval letter that we received from Home Office yesterday states that we should not contact our local county council till we get an invitation. I am confused. Do different councils have different procedures for arrangement of the Citizenship Ceremonies? I can't find any such information on the Oxfordshire County Council (our council) about arranging for the ceremony. Any thoughts, any body?

Kind regards

Navneet

Hi Naveet,

The cases look different (from what I seeĀ on this website). Just follow the instructions given in your approval letter and don't rely on anything else. In your case, you may contact IND instead of the council for further advice.

Hi everyone

got my approval letter but didn't get invitation letter from the home office. WhatĀ I got was an invitation from the council for a citizenship ceremony tomorrow, I didn't book any appointment with them, they just had their date, Is this normal?

Thanks

Mary

My council do this every wednesday so I had to cancel one and got a week later appointment.Ā  Calling them won't harm your case, Ithink thetime is 90 days from your approval that you have to take the oath and 14 days to contact the Council.Ā  If you don't have any other commitment just go ahead and attend it becaus eyou don't need to prepare for anything except take your ID's with you.
