In the year 2000, I was convicted by a court of Traffic Light Offence and given 3 points on my licence and made to pay a £40 fine. I believe it has since cleared BUT how does this affect my application? Do i need to state it or not

Does anyone have any similar experience here?

I read something which says:

CLEAR PERIOD " Your application is likely to be refused if you apply within the following time from the date of conviction"        ****2 YEARS*****

ALSO

REHABILITATION PERIOD: "You do not need to state the conviction after thr following period of the conviction" *****5 YEARS*****

Can anyone explain??? Can this affect my application as my conviction was in 2000

Thanks

What it means is that in cases such as driving offences, resulting in a fine and "points", then once five years has elapsed since the conviction, you need not mention it at all.

If it had been less than five years ago, you would need to list it on the form - but the Home Office wouldn't hold it against you as long as two years had passed since it happened.
