Quick query regarding referees. I am a priest, and it strikes me that my Bishop would be a person of excellent standing to use as a character witness. Although we do not regularly socialise, it's his job to know me sufficiently well to speak of me personally as a person of good character. So I assume that cover the 'known personally, not just professionally' requirement. (Correct?)
But he will also go down in the 'employer' box, as well.
So ... should I use him as a character witness? Naturally, I can get other priests and people of standing of the community, as is required; that's not a problem. So the other alternative is to list my Bishop strictly as an employer and get two other witnesses?
What's more adviseable?
