I am not sure what kind of help you are looking for.  It is very clear inthe application form what sort of person can give you  a reference.  I would not list a person as a reference when they cannot trust you with their Passport information. You need to look around you and find a proper reference, they have given you so many categories and if you can't find a person in that category, then you are not ready for obtaining citizenship.  The reason I say that is because you must have spent about 3 years (on marriage basis) and if someone doesn't know you for last three years then I am sure there will be someone who knows your spouse.

If you have children, you can ask their teacher or any school administrator to do it.  Social worker and list goes on and on. How about the religious organisation that you go to. Put your thinking cap on and THINK!

This is has to be done by you , no one from this forum can help you becoming your reffree.

Hope this will give you some idea to go with

First of all I don?t think you have the right to said if I am ready to apply or not for the citizenship. It is not my fault if I don?t know someone within those characteristics, which is my friend. I don?t have children and I don?t go to church, and the people that I know that could feat the profile are just acquaintance and not real friends even do I know them for that amount of time. Or you don?t have that kind of relationship?

My question is basis in the referee that I found. It is possible to submit my application without one of my referee passport number?

I really appreciate if some know something about it and I let me know.

PS: I am not waiting for someone in this forum to become my referee. If you haven?t noticed this is a forum to share ideas and experiences to try to help other to resolve their problems, not to make sarcastic comments.Best regards

Well! I apologise the way you took it.  That's not how I meant. When I said that, I meant you were not fully prepared to take on the task because you have not done your home work properly.  I also agree with you that this is a forum, where you can come and ask questions and someone will help you. (Most of the time it is me) You also have to remember that you need to help yourself before anyone can help you.

The reason for British Nationality is to find out how much you are involved in becoming British and with other people around you. All factors are considered during the application process, your experience, your job, your acquaintances and what kind of people you are involved with.  I don't know if you are serious about getting Nationality or not but references is the main foundation that Home Office rely on.  They really don't know you but they figure this out from your references and the kind of company you keep.  If you have problem with references then Home Office will not go any further and may reject your application. THEY WILL NEVER GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU, THEY ARE THE LAZIEST BUNCH IN GOVERNMENT THAT TAKE THEIR OWN SWEET TIME. So forget that they will call someone to provide them with their passport number.

I wrote several time here that Citizenship is not one of your RIGHTS, Home Office can refuse you on any basis and they don't have to explain it to you.  In some cases they do explain it to you. If your application is rejected then you have no choice but to go file an appeal through a solicitor; therefore, I suggest that you do a proper job first time.

Hi E G.

The advice I got from the Home Office is that, as long as one of your referees holds a British passport it is Ok. The person of professional standing does not need to be British even.

As you, I also had difficulties in finding two referees who know me for three years (I am applying as a spouse of a British citizen). Most of the people I know are my relatives, are not of ?professional standing? or do not know me for three years.

In the end, I asked my GP (who does not hold a British passport) to be my ?professional? referee. Thanks God, I registered myself at his surgery as soon as I got in England, otherwise I would be in the same situation as you.

But, I would like to say that this does not mean at all we are not involved in British life, as someone suggested (No comments!) And I do not believe the ?references is the main foundation that Home Office rely on?, since they were introduced only some months ago. It is just another way to check our identity, as important as any other information we produce.

Anyway, E G, I would advise you (in case you have not submitted your application yet!) to talk straight to the Home Office and explain your difficulty (British Citizens Enquiries ? 0845 0105200 / Mon ? Fri 09:00 ? 21:00)

You will notice they are much more helpful and friendly!

Good luck with your application!
