You should find the answer to this if you post on www.ukresident.com

Hope this helps.

Student visas do not count towards ILR and, regardless of the work you were doing, if you were on a student visa then that's the basis they'll make their decision on. In your case, however, I might suggest getting some advice from an immigration advisor, because it doesn't sound like a very simple case.

Hi,

Its very upsetting as same people who works under same hospital got different visas and thats going to affect me badly. I hope I may have to go ahead with immigration advise. Could you please tell what kind of advise i have to get?. do I have to go ahead with immigration lawyers?

http://www.ukresident.com/  and post on the ILR board and ask for Victoria, she's a Level 3 registered immigration advisor, and she may be able to point you in the right direction. She's quite helpful on those boards.

Good luck,
Will

http://www.ukresident.com/forums/index.php?  and register as a user. (The link is near the top.) Then scroll down to the ILR board and post your query there and, as I've said, ask for Victoria. John may also be able to help.

I don't have any control over that site, I'm afraid.

When you register, you should have had a verification email from them. Did you follow the instructions in that? Until you do, the system will not allow you to post. That seems to me like the most likely problem.

But if that doesn't work, then if I were you, I would email the site's administrators and see if they can help.

Hai,

I came to UK on OCt 2003 on a work permit and started to work full time with NHS. 21 of us joined the same trust and out of 21, 4 got work permit visa and rest 17 got student nurse visa for the first year on our passport  even though we were working full time and was on work permit.  I noticed it recently and some one is telling as I got student nurse visa I wont be able to apply for PR (After my 5yrs stay in UK) by next year. Is that right? Would I be able to go ahead with my permanent residency application and suceed. IF any problems the differnet kind of visa homeoffice issued for us going to help me any way. Me and my friends was not aware that the student nurse visa is going to be a problem for us as I was not a student. The thing is that I was not even a care assistant and I was working 37.5 hrs, and didn't fulfill any criteria for a student. We are really concerned and worried regarding this and wonder would you be able to help me with this.

                          Thank you,

                                           Bindu.
