When someone is granted limited leave to remain, a line on your visa usually appears which says 'no recourse to public funds'. However, this is not the case, when you are granted ILR. This means if you were to apply for naturalisation, you shouldn't have any problems. But it is always good to check with the home office.

Wonder if anyone can give me a good advice on this, would claiming benefit of any sort in the past, (jobseekers, housing, council tax benefit) affect anyone when they now want to go through the naturalisation process in order to become a British citizen. Urgent advice needed please
