hi everyone!

i'm an EEA who has been working here continuously since 2003 september,to my understanding i have gained automatically irl  in 2008 september,and i could apply for citizenship in 2009 september,hoewer i dont want to,but my husband would do.

My husband is Non-EEa he has been here legally since 2001 january,we got married in 2006 june,he got EEa2 card which expired 2009decmber, he got IRL issued 2010 february.

My question is when can he earliest apply for naturalisation?

To my understatning if we calculate 6 years from our marriage it would be 2010 june,but home office said no he has to wait one year after issuing his IRL.
