Dear all,

I was about to apply for naturalisation and got caught doing minor speeding offence for which a conditional fixed penalty notice has been issued.
Although I strongly feel like challenging the offence (due to mitigating circumstances in which i was caught), I am very hesitant to do so as doing so will mean summons/court (I read other prev posts saying any 'court issued' penalty points/fine have to be declared)
Anyways, my conditional fixed penalty notice states that I send the £60 and my licence to Her Majesty Court Services (HMCS) so if I accept this will it be classed as 'court-issued' penalty points and then have to be declared or not??

Any help much appreciated

I am sure that its a bit late for my reply to be of any help to you, but I will reply for the benefit of others who might be in the same situation.

If you accept the fixed penalty, then there is no conviction, and this simply does not need to be declared.

If you challenge it in court, and if you loose the case (which you will 100 percent), then this will become a conviction and will need to be declared.
