My husband (US) and I (UK) are applying for our ILR at the end of this month. I'm currently a medical student and entering my 4th year. My husband and I were living together in my university town from January 2011 until April of this year, when he had to move away for a job opportunity in order to meet the financial criteria as there was absolutely nothing where I'm at uni. I obviously couldn't move since I need to be at my university for the next 2 years until I qualify, and then I will be applying for jobs where he is living.

We pay rent & bills for my husband's room in a shared house, and I live rent-free during the week at my uni accommodation, returning to my husband at the weekend (or he comes to me). All our bank statements and bills are at my husband's address.

I'm a bit concerned about what'll happen with the address issues - obviously we only pay for one residence, all our post goes to that address, but my bank statements will show that my transactions during the week are at my university city and my weekends are at the same place husband is.

What do we put down for our address? Do we keep it as the residence we pay for, or do we explain that I have to be at uni but we see each other every weekend and plan to live together again when I graduate? I'm a bit concerned that if we do the latter then they'll use it as an excuse not to grant him his ILR since he meets all the other criteria (and we all know they want to grant as few ILRs as possible at the moment)

If anyone can help, that'd be great! Thanks
