CITIZENSHIP INVITATION
I am pleased to tell you that this application for british citizenship has been approved. To complete the process of becoming a british citizen, you will need to attend a citizenship ceremony to receive your certificate. In the ceremony you will take an Oath or Affirmation of allegiance to the Crown and a Pledge of Loyalty to the United Kingdom. This is a formal promise to Her Majesty the Queen and to the United Kingdom.
What you must do now
- The ceremony will be arranged by the Local Authority whose details are shown below. Please contact the authority using these details within 14 days of the date of this letter to book your ceremony. Please note that documentation may take up to 2 working days to arrive.
- The personal details below will appear on the certificate. If the details on your certificate are incorrect you should still arrange a ceremony, and return the certificate to us for amendment afterwards. You should also send a copy of your passport or birth certificate as evidence of the correct details.

Please read the enclosed guidance notes as soon as possible. These give important information about the ceremony and the words you need to say for the Oath / Affirmation and the Pledge.
You must bring this invitation to the ceremony, if you do not your ceremony will be postponed.
