i planned to apply for citizenship in june 07. By the time I will have 5 years in this country on a work permit. I wonder should i apply for ILR before applying for citizenship? is it a anecessory requirement before applying for citizenship as per the new changes?.my wife came to this country as my dependent .she is living in this country last 3 years, passed life in the uk test. And also I have a child born in here aged 1year i would like to know whether they both can apply for citizenship with me in june07

You must hold ILR for one year unless it is on the basis of marriage.  In your case you are on work permit so I'm afraid you will have to apply fro ILR before you can apply for Citizenship. Once you become Citizen your wife can apply for citizenship if she gets ILR.

Check with a good solicitor if there are any other options.
