from what i know she should not be away for more than 2years and so maybe every year and a half, return to the uk even if it is for 2weeks is fine. if she stays away longer than 2years she will need to apply for a returning visa. if she could gain citizenship b4 she left it will be better because then you can stay away as long as you like and you can always come back becos you are a citizen.good luck

Hi again. I have a friend who is leaving for US with an immigrant visa and I believed she also has an ILR visa here in England. Is there anyway she can keep and maintain here ILR visa while she is in America? Is there any specific requirements or rules for her to comply so she can keep her residency visa here in UK while working in America?.
