Hello everyone,

I would appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this issue for me.

I am currently on the Tier 1 Post Study Work Visa and intend to apply for the Tier 2 visa with the help of my employer.

I was reading some of the policy statements at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/tier2-guidance.pdf and it stated under the period of grant table that:

"We will always calculate the leave to remain
grant period from the start date given on your
Certificate of Sponsorship.
This will be:
i. 3 years plus 14 days; or
ii. to the end date given on your Certificate
of Sponsorship plus 14 days
whichever is the shorter period"

Does this mean that the leave to remain grant (3 years and 14 days) I will be given under the tier 2 visa will start from when I was employed or when the Certificate of Sponsorship was issued.

Many thanks for your anticipated responses.
